A downloadable game

Have you even longed to be part of an artistic movement? Like those influential writers who were also friends? Or those musicians building off one another's jazzy vibes? Well, now you can play this game!

In The Cubies' RPG, you (and possibly some other people) will take on the role of artists working together to refine your craft, inspire one another to new heights of artistry, and overcome your critics to leave a lasting impression on humanity! ... or fail entirely and have your art languish among the mountains of the mediocre.

This is a quick pick-up-and-play GMless ttRPG using a d6, a d4, and a custom Hex Flower. It requires zero prep, but it may challenge your creativity! It was created in response to the One-Page RPG Jam 2023 using public domain art from the 1913 picture book "The Cubies' ABC" by Mary Mills Lyall and Earl Harvey Lyall. This book lampoons the new-to-the-U.S.A. Cusbist movement, which the Lyalls were not much impressed with. I couldn't have asked for a better bit of public domain nonsense to inspire me!

If you find this 1-page RPG to be fun and in any way worthy of your capitalism units, please consider donating to Owen K.C. Stephens' KoFi, subscribing to his Patreon, or purchasing his book of Boss Encounters. His work in the ttRPG design space has been massively influential to my own design journey, and his fight against cancer is in need of some financial reinforcements.

This is my first time using anything other than a word processor and MS Paint, so I'd happily accept any pointers on design and layout, as my Affinity Publisher skills are (at best) lacking.

Special thanks to Goblin's Henchman for the excellent resources in the Hex Flower Cookbook and for pointing out some helpful mathematical observations on this game (which is what made it a 2-mode system), and to Rickard on The Cauldron forums for spending the time and energy to provide insightful observations that helped make this game less of a pile of weird brain mush.

Thank you for checking out my silly little game. I hope you enjoy it!
